حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ فَجَلَسَ يُمْلِي خَيْرًا حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ كَانَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عِتْقِ ثَمَانِيَةٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ.
English Translation
Hasan ibn al-Rabi' told us, Hammad ibn Zayd told us, from al-Mu'alla ibn Ziyad, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays the 'Asr prayer then sits dictating good until evening, that is better than freeing eight slaves from the descendants of Isma'il."
