حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَوَّزَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَ تَجَوَّزْتَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بُكَاءَ صَبِيٍّ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ مَعَنَا تُصَلِّي فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُفْرِغَ لَهُ أُمَّهُ وَقَدْ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَيْضًا فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ تُصَلِّي مَعَنَا فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُفْرِغَ لَهُ أُمَّهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ عِنْدِي فِي غَيْرِ مَوْضِعٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَحُمَيْدٍ وَثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ.
English Translation
Affan told us: Hammad ibn Zayd told us, he said: Ali ibn Zayd and Humayd informed us, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, shortened the dawn prayer one day. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, why did you shorten it?" He said: "I heard a child crying, and I thought that his mother was praying with us, so I wanted to free his mother for him." Hammad also said: "so I thought his mother was praying with us, so I wanted to free his mother for him." Affan said: I found it in another place, from Ali ibn Zayd and Humayd and Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik.
