حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ يَسْلُتُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ كَيْفَ يُفْلِحُ قَوْمٌ شَجُّوا نَبِيَّهُمْ وَكَسَرُوا رَبَاعِيَتَهُ وَهُوَ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنْ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ }.
English Translation
Affan told us: Hammad told us: Thabit informed us, from Anas, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said on the day of Uhud, while wiping the blood from his face, saying: "How can a people prosper who have wounded their Prophet and broken his tooth, while he calls them to Allah?" So Allah, Mighty and Sublime, revealed: "Not for you is the decision, whether He turns to them in mercy or punishes them, for indeed they are wrongdoers."
