حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَلَهُمْ يَوْمَانِ يَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا هَذَانِ الْيَوْمَانِ قَالُوا كُنَّا نَلْعَبُ فِيهِمَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَبْدَلَكُمْ بِهِمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ.
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Humayd informed us, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to Madinah, and they had two days in which they used to play. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "What are these two days?" They said, "We used to play on them in the Age of Ignorance." He said, "Indeed Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has replaced them for you with something better than them: the day of Fitr and the day of Sacrifice."
