English Translation
Surayj ibn al-Nu'man told us: Abu Ubayda - that is, Abd al-Mu'min ibn Ubaydullah al-Sadusi - told us: Akhshan al-Sadusi told me: I entered upon Anas ibn Malik, who said: I heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say - or he said, 'By the One in whose hand is my soul,' or 'By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad' - 'If you were to sin until your sins filled what is between heaven and earth, then you sought God's forgiveness, He, Mighty and Majestic, would forgive you. And by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad - or by the One in whose hand is my soul - if you did not sin, God, Mighty and Majestic, would bring a people who would sin, then seek God's forgiveness, and He would forgive them.'
