حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ وَهُوَ أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقْبِلُ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ فَيَقُولُ تَرَاصُّوا وَاعْتَدِلُوا فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ظَهْرِي.
English Translation
Sulayman ibn Hayyan - he is Abu Khalid al-Ahmar - told us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to face us before saying the opening "Allahu Akbar," and would say, "Draw close together and straighten your rows, for indeed I see you from behind my back."
