English Translation
Abd al-Samad and Affan told us, they said: Hammad told us — the meaning being the same — from Simak, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent the chapter of Bara'ah with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him. When he reached Dhu al-Hulayfah — Affan said: No one should deliver it except me or a man of my household — so he sent it with Ali instead.
