حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ قَالَ أَتَاهُ شَيْخٌ أَوْ رَجُلٌ قَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.
English Translation
Aswad ibn Amir told us, Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash informed us, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came walking until he reached near the mosque. An old man, or a man, came to him and said: When is the Hour, O Messenger of Allah? He said: What have you prepared for it? The man said: By Him who sent you with the truth, I have not prepared much prayer or fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger. He said: You will be with those you love.
