حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ فَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى لَهُمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ.
English Translation
Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, he said: 'Ali ibn Mas'adah al-Bahili informed me, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Every son of Adam sins, and the best of sinners are those who repent often. If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would seek a third. Nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust.'"
