حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ كَرِشِي وَعَيْبَتِي وَإِنَّ النَّاسَ سَيَكْثُرُونَ وَيَقِلُّونَ فَاقْبَلُوا مِنْ مُحْسِنِهِمْ وَاعْفُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ وَقَالَ حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ مُسِيِّهِمْ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah informed us — and Hajjaj said: Shu'bah told me — I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Indeed the Ansar are my inner circle and my confidants, and indeed people will increase and they will decrease, so accept from those among them who do good, and overlook those among them who do wrong." Hajjaj said (a variant): "their wrongdoer."
