English Translation
Mu'ammal told us: Hammad told us, from Thabit, from Anas, that a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asking him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him sheep filling the space between two mountains. The man went to his people and said, "O my people, embrace Islam, for by Allah, Muhammad gives such a gift as a man who does not fear poverty" — or he said, "want." He said: And Thabit narrated to us as well, saying: Anas said: A man would come to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to embrace Islam wanting nothing but to gain some worldly possession — or he said, some worldly gain he sought — but he would not spend that evening of that very day before his religion had become dearer to him — or he said, greater to him — than the world and all that is in it.
