English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us, 'Asim al-Ahwal told us, from Anas, who said: I asked him about the qunut, whether it was before the bowing or after the bowing. He said, "Before the bowing." I said, "But they claim that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed the qunut after the bowing." He said, "They have lied. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, only performed the qunut for a month, supplicating against people who had killed some of his companions who were called the Reciters (al-Qurra')."
