حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بِجُبَّةِ سُنْدُسٍ قَالَ فَلَقِيَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ بَعَثْتَ إِلَيَّ بِجُبَّةِ سُنْدُسٍ وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِيهَا مَا قُلْتَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَبْعَثْ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَلْبَسَهَا إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَبِيعَهَا أَوْ تَسْتَنْفِعَ بِهَا.
English Translation
Hisham ibn Sa'id al-Talaqani narrated to us: Abu 'Awana narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman al-Asamm, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent to 'Umar a cloak of silk brocade. 'Umar met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "You sent me a cloak of silk brocade, when you have said what you have said about it." He said: "I did not send it to you to wear it; I only sent it to you to sell it or benefit from it."
