حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قَالَ وَسَمَّانِي لَكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَبَكَى.
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b: "Indeed, Allah has commanded me to recite to you Surah 'Lam Yakun' (Those who disbelieved)." He said: "He named me to you?" He said: "Yes." So he wept.
