English Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah will say to the one whose punishment in the Fire is the lightest: 'If you had everything on earth, would you ransom yourself with it?' He will say: 'Yes.' Allah will say: 'I wanted from you something easier than that. I took a covenant from you while you were in the loins of Adam that you would not associate anything with Me, but you insisted on associating partners with Me.'"
