حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ ثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ هَبَطُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ جَبَلِ التَّنْعِيمِ مُتَسَلِّحِينَ يُرِيدُونَ غِرَّةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ فَأَخَذَهُمْ سَلَمًا فَاسْتَحْيَاهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ }.
English Translation
Anas reported that eighty men from the people of Makkah descended upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) from the mountain of al-Tan'im, fully armed, intending to ambush the Prophet and his companions. He captured them alive and spared them. Then Allah revealed: 'And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within Makkah, after He gave you victory over them.'
