حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ فَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا خَلْفَ ذَلِكَ قَلِيلًا وَقَالَ هَذَا أَجَلُهُ ثُمَّ رَمَى بِيَدِهِ أَمَامَهُ قَالَ وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ.
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gathered his fingers and placed them on the ground and said: "This is the son of Adam." Then he raised them a little behind that and said: "This is his appointed time." Then he threw his hand forward and said: "And there is his hope."
