حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو خُزَيْمَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ الْمَنَّانَ بَدِيعَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ اللَّهَ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى.
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) heard a man saying: "O Allah, I ask You by virtue of the fact that all praise belongs to You, there is no god but You alone, with no partner, the Bestower, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of Majesty and Honor." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You have asked Allah by His Greatest Name, which when He is called upon by it He answers, and when He is asked by it He gives."
