حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ سَمِعَ أَنَسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَتْبَعُ الْمَيِّتَ ثَلَاثٌ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعَمَلُهُ فَيَرْجِعُ اثْنَانِ وَيَبْقَى وَاحِدٌ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَيَبْقَى عَمَلُهُ.
English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, Abd Allah ibn Abi Bakr narrated to me, who heard Anas narrating from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, "Three things follow the deceased: his family, his wealth, and his deeds. Two of them return, and one remains: his family and his wealth return, and his deeds remain."
