English Translation
Ibn Abi Adiyy and Suhayl ibn Yusuf narrated to us - the meaning being the same - from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The prayer was called, and a man came running, and he arrived out of breath, panting. When he reached the row he said, "Praise be to Allah, abundant, good, blessed praise." When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, finished his prayer, he said, "Which of you spoke?" The people were silent. He said again, "Which of you spoke? For he said something good, or he said nothing wrong." The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I hurried in walking and reached the row, and said what I said." He said, "I indeed saw twelve angels racing to see which of them would carry it up." Then he said, "When one of you comes to the prayer, let him walk at his ease; let him pray whatever he catches, and complete whatever he has missed."
