English Translation
Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered one of the orchards of Banu al-Najjar, and heard a voice from a grave. He asked, "When was this person buried?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, this person was buried in the time of pre-Islamic ignorance." That pleased him, and he said, "Were it not that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to let you hear the punishment of the grave."
