حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ ثَنَا أَشْعَثُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَقَالَ انْتَبِذْ فِي سِقَائِكَ وَأَوْكِهِ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَقِيَ الْوَفْدَ الَّذِينَ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ فِيهِمْ الْأَشَجُّ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا حَيٌّ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ وَبَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَنَّ فِيكَ خَلَّتَيْنِ.
English Translation
Rawh told us, Ash'ath told us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the gourd, the hollowed-out tree stump, and the pitch-coated vessel, and said: "Make your nabidh in your waterskin and tie its mouth." Rawh told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatada, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: "And one who met the delegation that came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, from Abd al-Qays, among whom was al-Ashajj, told me: they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are a tribe of Rabi'a, and between us and you are the disbelievers of Mudar,'" and he mentioned the like of the hadith of Yahya, but he did not mention that there were two traits in you.
