English Translation
Ya'qub told us, his father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: al-'Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman told me, from his father, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "When it is Friday, the angels sit at the doors of the mosque and record the people, whoever comes, according to their rank: a man who has brought forward [the reward of] a camel, a man who has brought forward a cow, a man who has brought forward a sheep, a man who has brought forward a chicken, a man who has brought forward a sparrow, and a man who has brought forward an egg. Then when the caller gives the adhan and the imam sits on the pulpit, the pages are folded up, and they enter the mosque to listen to the reminder."
