English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Darraj, from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Moses said, 'My Lord, Your believing servant is kept in straitened circumstances in this world.' He said: 'So a door of Paradise will be opened for him, and he will look at it.' O Moses, this is what I have prepared for him. Moses said, 'My Lord, by Your might and majesty, even if he were cut off in both hands and feet, dragged upon his face from the day You created him until the Day of Resurrection, and this were his final destination, he would never have seen any misery at all.'" He said: Then Moses said, "My Lord, Your disbelieving servant — You expand provision for him in this world." He said: "So a door of the Fire will be opened for him, and it will be said, 'O Moses, this is what I have prepared for him.'" Moses said, "My Lord, by Your might and majesty, even if he had had all of this world from the day You created him until the Day of Resurrection, and this were his final destination, it would be as though he had never seen any good at all."
