English Translation
Uthman ibn Muhammad narrated to us — and I also heard it from Uthman — Jarir narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Nu'm, from Abu Sa'id, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one in the state of ihram may kill the viper, the scorpion, the kite, the biting dog, and the noxious little vermin." I asked, "What is the noxious little vermin?" He said, "The mouse." I asked, "And what is the matter with the mouse?" He said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, once woke up to find that it had taken hold of the wick and carried it up to the roof to set it on fire above him."
