English Translation
Hajjaj told us: Layth told us; and al-Khuza'i told us: Layth informed us: Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id told me, from Abu Sa'id, freedman of al-Mahri, that he came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri during the nights of al-Harrah and consulted him about leaving Medina, complaining to him of its high prices and the abundance of his dependents, and telling him that he had no patience for the hardship of Medina. He said, "Woe to you! I do not command you to do that. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, 'No one endures the hardship and difficulty of Medina and dies, but that I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection, if he was a Muslim.'"
