حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ شَكَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاجَتَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اصْبِرْ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ فَإِنَّ الْفَقْرَ إِلَى مَنْ يُحِبُّنِي مِنْكُمْ أَسْرَعُ مِنْ السَّيْلِ عَلَى أَعْلَى الْوَادِي وَمِنْ أَعْلَى الْجَبَلِ إِلَى أَسْفَلِهِ.
English Translation
Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr informed me, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, from his father, that he complained to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, of his need, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Be patient, Abu Sa'id, for poverty comes faster to whoever among you loves me than a flood coming down from the top of a valley, or from the top of a mountain to its bottom."
