English Translation
Yunus told us, Layth told us, from Yazid - meaning Ibn al-Had - from Yuhannas, the freedman of Mus'ab ibn al-Zubayr, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: While we were traveling with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-'Arj, a poet appeared reciting verses, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Seize the devil," or "restrain the devil; for a man's belly being filled with pus is better for him than being filled with poetry."
