حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ بُرْدَيْنِ مُخْتَالًا خَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.
English Translation
Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham told us, Shayban told us, from Firas, from 'Atiyyah, from Abu Sa'id, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said, "While a man was walking between two cloaks in arrogance, Allah caused the earth to swallow him, and he will keep sinking into it until the Day of Resurrection."
