English Translation
He said: I read to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'sa'ah, from his father, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that a man heard another man reciting "Say: He is Allah, the One," repeating it before dawn. When morning came, he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned that to him, for the man used to consider it insignificant. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, it is equivalent to a third of the Qur'an."
