حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ شَدَّادٍ، يَقُولُ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ لِأَحَدٍ غَيْرِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَإِنَّ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ جَعَلَ يَقُولُ ارْمِ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي.
English Translation
It was narrated that Sa`d bin Ibraheem said: I heard ‘Abdullah bin Shaddad say: `Hadrat Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: I never saw the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mention both of his parents for anyone except Sa`d bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him). On the day of Uhud he started saying: `Shoot, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you!”
