حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَعَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَهِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ تَطْمَئِنُّ إِلَيْهِمْ الْقُلُوبُ وَتَلِينُ لَهُمْ الْجُلُودُ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ تَشْمَئِزُّ مِنْهُمْ الْقُلُوبُ وَتَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُمْ الْجُلُودُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنُقَاتِلُهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا مَا أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ.
English Translation
'Abd al-Samad told us: my father and 'Affan told us: 'Abd al-Warith told us: Muhammad ibn Juhadah told us: al-Walid narrated to me, from 'Abdullah al-Bahi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be over you rulers to whom hearts feel at ease and skins soften, then there will be over you rulers from whom hearts recoil and skins shudder." A man said: "Shall we fight them, O Messenger of God?" He said: "No, as long as they establish the prayer."
