حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ حَدَّثَنَا عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ بِبَابِ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى لَيَرَاهُمْ مَنْ تَحْتَهُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ النَّجْمَ الطَّالِعَ فِي الْأُفُقِ مِنْ آفَاقِ السَّمَاءِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ مِنْهُمْ وَأَنْعَمَا.
English Translation
Ibn Numayr told us: al-A'mash told us: 'Atiyyah ibn Sa'd told us at the door of this mosque, who said: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those of the highest ranks will be seen by those beneath them just as you see the rising star in the horizon of the sky's horizons, and Abu Bakr and 'Umar are among them, and how excellent they are."
