حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ قَالَ لَا تُوقِدُوا نَارًا بِلَيْلٍ قَالَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَاكَ قَالَ أَوْقِدُوا وَاصْطَنِعُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُدْرِكُ قَوْمٌ بَعْدَكُمْ صَاعَكُمْ وَلَا مُدَّكُمْ.
English Translation
Yahya told us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Yahya, who said: My father narrated to me that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri told him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), on the day of al-Hudaybiyah, said: "Do not light fires at night." He said: Then afterward he said: "Light fires and prepare food, for no people after you will attain your measure nor your handful."
