حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ رَحِمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَنْفَعُ قَوْمَهُ بَلَى وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ رَحِمِي مَوْصُولَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَإِنِّي أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ فَرَطٌ لَكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ فَإِذَا جِئْتُمْ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَا فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ وَقَالَ أَخُوهُ أَنَا فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَمَّا النَّسَبُ فَقَدْ عَرَفْتُهُ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ أَحْدَثْتُمْ بَعْدِي وَارْتَدَدْتُمْ الْقَهْقَرَى حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
English Translation
Abu Amir told us, Zuhayr told us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad, from Hamzah ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, from his father, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say on this pulpit: "What is the matter with men who say that the kinship of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, does not benefit his people? Nay, by Allah, my kinship is joined in this world and the Hereafter, and I, O people, am a forerunner for you at the Pond. When you come..." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so," and his brother said: "I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so." He said to them: "As for lineage, I know it, but you introduced innovations after me and turned back on your heels." Zakariyya ibn Adi told us, Ubaydullah told us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Hamzah ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, from his father, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say on the pulpit — and he mentioned the same meaning.
