English Translation
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id told us, Layth told us, from Ibn al-Had, from Yuhannis, client of Mus'ab ibn al-Zubayr, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: While we were travelling with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at al-Arj, a poet appeared reciting verses, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seize the devil!" - or "Restrain the devil!" - "That the belly of a man be filled with pus is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."
