حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَغْزُو فِئَامٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ فِيكُمْ مَنْ صَاحَبَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَغْزُو فِئَامٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ فِيكُمْ مَنْ صَاحَبَ مَنْ صَاحَبَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَغْزُو فِئَامٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ فَيَقُولُونَ هَلْ فِيكُمْ مَنْ صَاحَبَ مَنْ صَاحَبَ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ.
English Translation
Sufyan told us, from Amr, who heard Jabir narrating from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A time will come upon the people when a group of people will go out to fight, and it will be said to them: 'Is there among you anyone who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' They will say: 'Yes,' so victory will be granted to them. Then a group of people will go out to fight, and it will be said: 'Is there among you anyone who accompanied one who accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' They will say: 'Yes,' so victory will be granted to them. Then a group of people will go out to fight, and it will be said: 'Is there among you anyone who accompanied one who accompanied the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' They will say: 'Yes,' so victory will be granted to them."
