حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ الْأَصَمِّ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ لَا أَحْسِبُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ وَلَكِنَّ الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ الْفَقْرَ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ التَّكَاثُرَ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ الْعَمْدَ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'There is not a day on which a servant wakes up except that two angels descend. One of them says: O Allah, give the one who spends a replacement. The other says: O Allah, give the one who withholds destruction.'
