حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ عَنْ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْمُطَّلِبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ الْمَخْزُومِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَجِدُهُ حَلَالًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِأَنَّ النَّارَ مَسَّتْهُ قَالَ فَجَمَعَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَصًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ عَدَدَ هَذَا الْحَصَى لَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّارُ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allah will remove from him a hardship of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the next. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the next. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.'
