حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ النَّاسُ أَكْثَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَلَقِيتُ رَجُلًا فَقُلْتُ بِأَيِّ سُورَةٍ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَارِحَةَ فِي الْعَتَمَةِ فَقَالَ لَا أَدْرِي فَقُلْتُ أَلَمْ تَشْهَدْهَا قَالَ بَلَى قُلْتُ وَلَكِنِّي أَدْرِي قَرَأَ سُورَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Madinah is a sanctuary. Whoever commits an offense in it or shelters an offender, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind. No obligatory or voluntary act will be accepted from him.'
