حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَا وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِثْلَهُ.
English Translation
It was narrated that `Hadrat Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: If I tell you a hadeeth from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), then think of him in the best manner, the most guided manner and the most pious manner. A similar report was narrated from Abu ’Abdur-Rahman as-Sulami from `Hadrat Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him)
