حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ عَجْلَانَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْمَمْلُوكِ يَصْنَعُ طَعَامَكَ وَيُعَانِيهِ فَادْعُهُ فَإِنْ أَبَى فَأَطْعِمْهُ فِي يَدِهِ وَإِذَا ضَرَبْتُمُوهُمْ فَلَا تَضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said regarding the slave who prepares your food and labors over it: 'Invite him (to eat with you). If he refuses, then place food in his hand. And when you strike them, do not strike them on their faces.'
