حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ حَبْلًا فَيَأْتِيَ الْجَبَلَ فَيَحْتَطِبَ مِنْهُ فَيَبِيعَهُ فَيَأْكُلَ وَيَتَصَدَّقَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا.
English Translation
Ibn Numayr told us: al-A'mash told us, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For one of you to take a rope and go to the mountain and gather firewood from it, then sell it and eat from its proceeds and give charity, is better for him than to ask people for something."
