998/1322(صحيح الإسناد)عن أسلم، عن عمر بن الخطاب قال:"لا يكن حبك كلفاً، ولا بغضك تلفاً". فقلت: كيف ذاك؟ قال:"إذا أحببت كلفت كلف الصبي(1)، وإذا أبغضت أحببت لصاحبه التلف".
English Translation
Aslam reported from Umar ibn al-Khattab who said: 'Do not let your love be obsessive, nor your hatred destructive.' I said: 'How is that?' He said: 'When you love, you become obsessed like a child. And when you hate, you wish destruction upon your companion.'
