English Translation
Tariq said: We were sitting with Abdullah [ibn Mas'ud] when his doorman came and said: 'The prayer has begun.' He stood and we stood with him and entered the mosque. He saw the people bowing at the front of the mosque, so he said the takbir and bowed, and we walked and did as he did. A man hurrying past said: 'Peace be upon you, O Abu Abd al-Rahman!' He said: 'Allah has spoken the truth, and His Messenger has conveyed [the message].' After the prayer, he returned and entered upon his family, and we sat in our place waiting for him to come out. Tariq said: I will ask him. I asked him, and he said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Among the signs of the Hour: greetings will be given only to acquaintances, trade will become widespread until a wife helps her husband in business, ties of kinship will be severed, the pen [writing] will become widespread, false testimony will appear, and true testimony will be concealed.'
