736/956(صحيح)عن أبي هريرة، قال: رأيته يضرب جبهته بيده، ويقول: يا أهل العراق! أتزعمون أني أكذب على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم! أيكون لكم المهنأ وعلي المأثم؟ أشهد لسمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:" إذا انقطع شعس[نعل أحدكم، فلا يمشي في نعله الأخرى حتى يصلحه".
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah said: I saw him striking his forehead with his hand, saying: 'O people of Iraq! Do you claim that I lie about the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? You enjoy the benefit and I bear the sin? I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "When the strap of your sandal breaks, do not walk in the other one until you fix it."'
