حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا كَانَ فِي وِتْرٍ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ لَمْ يَنْهَضْ حَتَّى يَسْتَوِيَ قَاعِدًا .
English Translation
Hadrat Malik ibn al-Huwayth (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that he saw the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — when he was in an odd-numbered rak'ah of his prayer, he would not stand up until he had settled in the sitting position (i.e., he would observe the sitting of rest — jalsat al-istirahah).
Urdu Translation
حضرت مالک بن حویرث (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نماز کی طاق رکعت (پہلی یا تیسری) میں ہوتے تو سیدھے بیٹھے بغیر نہ کھڑے ہوتے (یعنی جلسۂ استراحت فرماتے)۔
