Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَشْهَبِ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَأَى فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ " تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلاَ يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) noticed his Companions tending to stand at the back. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Come forward and follow my lead, and let those behind you follow yours. People will continue to keep to the back until Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, will put them at the back (from His mercy).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنے صحابہ میں پیچھے ہٹنے کا رجحان دیکھا تو ارشاد فرمایا: آگے بڑھو اور میری اقتدا کرو، اور جو تمہارے بعد آئیں وہ تمہاری اقتدا کریں۔ لوگ ہمیشہ پیچھے ہٹتے رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ اللہ عزوجل انہیں (اپنی رحمت سے) پیچھے کر دے گا۔
