حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، قَالَ أَظُنُّ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ نَافِعَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مَرْحُومٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَعْنَاهُ زَادَ ثُمَّ أَتَى آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَمَغْفِرَتُهُ فَقَالَ " أَرْبَعُونَ " . قَالَ " هَكَذَا تَكُونُ الْفَضَائِلُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Mu'adh ibn Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates from his father a hadith with the same meaning from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), with the addition: Then another man came and said: Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings, and His forgiveness. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Forty (good deeds). Then he stated: This is how virtues increase.
Urdu Translation
حضرت معاذ بن انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اپنے والد سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں، اس میں اتنا زیادہ ہے: پھر ایک اور شخص آیا اور کہا: السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ وبرکاتہ ومغفرتہ۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: چالیس (نیکیاں)۔ پھر فرمایا: اسی طرح فضیلتیں (بڑھتی جاتی) ہیں۔
