Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، - قَالَ أَحْمَدُ قَالَ مَرَّةً يَعْنِي هُشَيْمًا - عَنْ بَعْضِ وَلَدِ الْعَلاَءِ أَنَّ الْعَلاَءَ بْنَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ كَانَ عَامِلَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ فَكَانَ إِذَا كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ بَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ .
English Translation
It is narrated that al-Ala ibn al-Hadrami was the governor of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in Bahrain, and when he would write to him (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), he would begin with his own name (i.e., he would write his name before the name of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
Urdu Translation
روایت ہے کہ علاء بن الحضرمی نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے بحرین پر عامل تھے، جب وہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو خط لکھتے تو اپنا نام پہلے لکھتے (یعنی بسم اللہ کے بعد اپنا نام نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے نام سے پہلے لکھا کرتے تھے)۔
